SIAL Innovation provides an exceptional showcase of global food trends and innovations in the food and beverage universe. This includes products, ingredients, and technology from all ten of the SIAL America food and beverage categories.
The SIAL Innovation competition is a unique international competition that rewards the best innovations in food and non-food-related products, such as packaging and containers.
Why should you participate?
- Innovation is the DNA of SIAL events worldwide, and America is no exception. The SIAL Innovation showcases the world’s most innovative products, guaranteeing an experience for attendees to learn about upcoming trends in the food and beverage sector.
- Only open to exhibitors, SIAL Innovation provides an excellent opportunity to showcase new innovative products to attendees. As part of the global program, the award is only for newly introduced food and beverage products. The winning product will be displayed at all SIAL events worldwide.
- Whether for food service, retail, or the food industry, SIAL America will be bringing the world’s innovative products to a display area on the exhibition floor this March.
CRITERIA TO PARTICIPATE
SIAL Innovation is reserved for SIAL America 2023 exhibitors (individual or members of a group that have signed up as registered exhibitors), who may present one or more products, each of whom must comply with the following criteria:

- Must provide edible food products of the agri-food industry and have been created or launched on the market after March 2022.
- All participants should declare and guarantee that they own the intellectual property rights relating to the product presented or, have been duly authorized by the owner of the intellectual property rights relating to the presented product for the competition.
- Participants shall guarantee that their products comply with the legislation of the original country or the country in which they are located.
THE JURY
They are comprised of an independent jury of experts from the food industry worldwide. The jury will:

- Examine the innovative qualities specific to products, even if they are not finalized (test to launch phase)
- Judge the relevance of whatever new benefit the product offers the consumer / or the industry (merchandising, packaging, recipe, technology, etc…)
- Award top prizes to the products that they considered as the most innovative of all products selected
- Be the sole parties authorized on the products selections; their decision shall be the final
WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED AT SIAL AMERICA ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 29 AT 4:15PM.
SIAL INNOVATION IN 4 STEPS
STEP 1
Submit your products for the competition, through the registration platform. Reserved for 2023 contracted exhibitors only.
STEP 2
During the event, the Jury will select the finalists amongst a pre-selection of the best innovations.
STEP 3
Out of the ten finalists, three winners will be selected and announced on social and to the press during the show.
STEP 4
The jury announces the grand-prize winners for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories during an official ceremony in front of the major players of the food industry.
GLOBAL VISIBILITY
One of the most awaited recognitions, SIAL Innovation is the only international competition that reveals the most innovative products in the food industry while offering winners global visibility.
